Most Memorable NS Times
(1) Basic Military Training 151207 - 120308
Date Begin - 151207

Location - Zulu Coy, Rocky Hill Camp, Pulau Tekong
It was a day I will always remember
reaching the eastern lone island of singapore, which marks the starts of my 2 year stint of National Service
I was enlisted as a PTP which means I am enlisting 1 mth earlier and staying on the island 1 mth more than others...
nonetheless
Tekong days was the best times I had throughout the 2yrs
I remembered.............
-the first time I shave my head (151207 @ 2000hr night);
-the first person I spoke to (really couldn't remember his name, only rmb that he whom later we all hated);
-my sect comd/ps Mark and Jeremy my senior in SACO;
-no 2 weeks confinement due to public holidays occuring @ the end of Dec;
-learnt how to fold a smart 4 and tying of bootlace;
-our super huge bunks in Rocky Hill;
-and toilets with DOORS!;
-ghost stories spreading from my PS;
-sighting wild boar from bunk on the last week of BMT @ Rocky Hill area;
-trying hard to shout command in malay (lolz. joke of the 3days);
-the first time playing with big guns M16;
-falling ill during 12km, before SIT Test;
-marching in the rain during 16km RM;
-doing SOC test, even without training for jacob ladder, in 'circle'
-AGR, ST, Morning Runs, SOC, RM and PTs;
then 7days of field camp.............
-no shower, no bed and pillow;
-torn down basha on 3rd night and it rained throughout the night;
-training in the night, with Robin shrieking coz I stepped on a branch;
-shouting "Section, Fire!" with no enemies in sight;
-bashing through a spider web;
-seeing firefly;
-thinking soap smell so nice after the discovery of toilets on 4th Day;
-digging shell scape (for my long body), and trying to sleep in it;
and then POP........
though before that was A'Level result day
but ended up booking out the last of tekong
rmb by the time was around 2:30
so since I'm already late might as well change to CV before going school
and got to know my result from weiling lolz
she so excited about my result
haha.
about POP...
the moment was like "finally! I leaving this fu*king island"
but come to think about it
I miss BMT days the most
the days when we shared a common goal everyday:
admin time and book out
the days where we shared a common enemy:
PS, OC, 2IC
the last few days of chilling in my bunk:
listening MP3 and singing
so much fond memories from that island
unforgettable.
(2) Basic Medic Course

Training as a Combat Medic was a bit of shock
rmb my PS was saying I will be a medic
but the word 'combat' really scares me
all the thoughts about carrying stretchers to do SOC..

all the lectures and lessons
and the first IV I did on Dominic, and then he topo me coz he couldn't find my vein
the funny statements Staff Chai made during lectures
nights out to either NorthPoint or Sembangwang with Yiliang, Fuwen and Edward
and the stupid yiliang ooc...
Medic course was a stressful period
dread the weekly IV we need to suffer
and the combat phase
but then till we got our posting
so heng got the same posting as Dominic
but too bad he's deferring.
great time there. will always rmb the spooky night walk along SMTI during book-in
(3) Pasir Laba Camp Medical Centre - ON JOB TRAINING

The best time I ever had in PLCMC

still rmb the first day me and dominic were told to report to PLC instead of Jurong Camp
and both of us was the first to reach
the seniors were like looking at us
haha.
then Yiyan came.
then habeeb, junyu and Ilham
6 of us.
then got these ORD chap who ord the end on the fri of our OJT week
rmb their words like "don't trust people", "betrayal"
giving as the impression that that's too much politics we needed to handle
and so during that period of time we were very closed to each other
then still rmb the lectures Max gave in the conference room
and frequent interuption by ah-duk
the 'weird' old man..
my notebook that was filled with notes (and doodling)
our bunk (until today last day still me and yiyan's bunk, been my bunk for 1.5yrs.. wow)
the combat IV when Max let me poke him
the all the documents no. 1001, 1005, 1020, 1021,22,23,24,25...... dunno how many no. lah
the stay-out-as-and-when-we-asked
and mostly mon was stay-in coz we are lazy to go home
then the day went dominic officially defer.
1 full month of full and learning experience
my thoughts were "this place would give me a glimps of working social life"
the fact that we need to "sweet-talk" to old man
and that we will be here for the next 1.5years.

It's my first time taking a plane and somemore go to somewhere so FAR away
7hrs of flight
totally "wow"
imagine seeing wild kangaroos hopping around right in front of you
and then feeling the cold breeze every night
freaking cold wind
and then summer desert hot in the day
really very bad weather
but this time didn't need to go into the M113
just sit in the rover
with Warrent Kalai, MSG Siva and Warrent Chin
Chin is the best. very fatherly like
rmb one day was his birthday
then they ask me to give him a flower haha!
he so happy after that
and coz I didn't really know MSU people that well
so starting just hang out with PengSoon and JunRong
but after living with the whole Pt1 Operator
everyone knows me
or maybe the whole MSU knows me as the only medic around
haha
aniwae
i swear I'm not going to go that place again!
thought I must say I learn a lot
or more like realise a lot about myself
and my life in Singapore
became to be more appreciative of things I have
and the people around me

miss the cat! ah! very cute cat u know
but of coz
the best part of the trip is still the accompany
Australia I had to make friends with PLT1
which luckily they are all very nice and funny people
this time coz KT ORDed so me and Su are very close
think is coz he want to hand over lolz
most memorable is the RTI cover
one whole night of laughter and joy haha
(7) Starlight Training

3rd overseas trips!
Dr decided to bring me along after Thailand as Yanlong doesn't want to come
so Taiwan was with Patil and MingHwang(!!)
it was, well, right after a typhoon in taiwan.
but we missed the typhoon period, when it was practically windy and rainy
by the time we are there is was back to summer weather
hot and hot ah.
nonetheless, although I must say the training part was very boring compared to in Australia or Thailand,
but the best R&R
so super worth the trip
enjoyed Taipei and KaoHsiung and KenTing and the night market
and my Pudding Milk Tea!
and those last days Kboxing with Dr Henry and Dr James and Ryan
and that stupid forfeit haha
(8) PLCMC Docu Department
MY DEPARTMENT
lolz~
frontdesk-ing and triaging
the busiest and largest department of the medical centre
and the fun-est place to be~
because docu people are always the crazy ones
and the hardworking ones (with exception of coz)
KT and Su the best fren in the dept
they thought me a lot esp KT
and now I have finally passed them down to Hengky
at least it didn't go into wastage haha
in general, the medical centre has widening my learning curve
and I've learnt a lot
be it the art of entertaining, customer services, socialising
the place will bring back much memories
if not for ah-duk, I probably would still be the same, old, boring, childish guy
though I'm still quite childish
but I've realise I've become more positive
and more receptive to all kinds of people
I accepted the fact that no one is perfect
and we should look at his plus points,
or else life would be f*cking shitty
people I want to thank:
- PS Mark and PC/2IC Yeo for all the words of wisdom and teaching about army, and for making BMT the best times;
- Sect 1 for always looking after each other;
- Yiliang, JunYong, Kenneth, YenSen, Lester and Robin for being together everytime during BMT and during gathering;
- Yiliang for being in BMC together though u OOC, but u know u are the best fren I made in NS =);
- Fuwen and Edward for all the help in medic course
- Zaki for all the 'tough' training, which emphasize on "suck-thumb";
- Rasali, Staff Chai and for the medic training which.. is lame;
- Sathe Thas, Warrent Chin and pals for making Wallaby a memorable one;
- MSU Plt 1 Operators and PS and PC for all the chiong sua;
- Max for being the best OJT IC and teaching us things you know, be it medical or not;
- Adok for being the lousiest snr medic, and for making me learn how to act nice to ppl who aren't so nice to you;
- Dominic for being posted to PLC together, but u left half-way;
- Habeeb, JunYu and Ilham for being the best batch of medics wow! ;
- Yiyan and Joel for being always there for me to complain about anything and everything!;
- KT and Su for the best docu partners in PLC =)
